Special Needs
Heartland Head Start enrolls children with a wide range of ability. Every child in the program receives a developmental screening to identify children who may require more support than a regular education classroom can offer. Screenings occur within the first 45 days of a child’s enrollment. We work in conjunction with the school districts and early intervention to meet the children’s needs in the best way our program can provide. Examples of these partnerships include offering services to be completed within our Early Head Start rooms and dually enrolling eligible preschool children in both their home school and Head Start as applicable. Heartland Head Start is a member of the McLean County Local Education Association which covers both McLean and Livingston counties. If you have questions about whether Heartland Head Start can meet the needs of your child, please contact our Special Services Manager at 309-662-4880.
